Details Content

Qualitative Filter paper is originally used to detect materials that exist in analysis samples. However, with the low price and different sizes, laboratories and production sites use this filter for various purposes.

Features
Qualitative filter paper consists of almost 100% alpha-cellulose and has less than 0.1% ash contents.
Characterized by its slim and enhanced wet burst strength, available in most sizes.
HM maintains the highest quality in accordance with ISO 9001:2008.

α-cellulose
Alpha-cellulose is the main ingredient of pulp which is a raw material for paper. There are 3 types: α, β, and γ.
α-cellulose is not soluble in solutions with 17 – ۱۸% sodium hydroxide, pure, and has a high degree of polymerization.

Applications

  • Liquid purification in qualitative analysis
  • Filtration of precipitates such as calcium hydroxide, lead sulfide, and calcium carbonate
  • Seed testing and soil analysis
  • Detection and measurement of dust and gas
  • Filtration of buffer solutions and dye
  • Selection guide
  • For high-efficiency filtration, it is important to select a filter paper suitable for the filtration conditions.
    ①Target filtration precision
② Properties of the liquid to be filtered (pH, viscosity, temperature)
③Conditions of particles to be collected (particle diameter, particle concentration)

※ The pore sizes are indicated in accordance with the test methods selected by each filter paper manufacturer.
Thus, filtration performance may be the same, even though pore sizes are different with those of others manufacturers.

• Basic Weight (g / m²) : In accordance with DIN EN ISO 536, The test is performed with filter papers from 500cm² to 1,000cm²
• Thickness (mm) : In accordance with DIN EN ISO 534, the value measured with a thickness measurer under the pressure of 10N / cm²
• Herzberg( s /100 mL) : Fold a filter paper with a diameter of 110mm in quarters and soak it. Then, hang it and filter 10mL of distilled water at 20°C. The time that it takes for filtration is measured.
• Retention rate (μm) : Retention rate is calculated by test methods of filter paper manufacturers. As each manufacturer has a different test method, use these data for reference only.
• Ash Contents (%) : Weight of residues after 10g of filter paper is ignited in platinum crucible at 800°C

※  Qualitative filter paper is available in a roll type as well as a sheet type.
※   HYUNDAI MICRO provides a customized sizing service.

※ The table is for suggestions only. Filter specifications can be vary on its performances depending on the manufacturers.
